StarWoman's Preview of the C. C. Deck

The C. C. Deck

Five ***** Stars

The C. C. Deck is an innovative non-Tarot deck created by Tarot expert Maralee Fox-Heins. Most decks that are made have a story to tell but the story behind the story of the one-of-a-kind C. C. Deck is like the plot was lifted straight from a best-selling novel. There's a brave heroine, a dramatic plot with many twists and turns, secrets, envious and spiteful foes, lies, espionage, banishment, blackballing, cyberstalking, and all kinds of attempted sabotage. The wonderful thing about this story is it does have a very happy ending, at least for our brave heroine Maralee, and for those who were rooting for her to overcome so much jealously spiteful adversity.
Our story begins with the actuality that almost everything about the C. C. Deck had to be kept secret and still has to be until it is officially published because it is unlike any other deck. A groundbreaking deck like this has to be constantly guarded religiously to prevent theft by the unscrupulous.
Enter certain 'competitors' who didn't have the creativity to be in the same league as Maralee. These adversaries were incapable of understanding the very real necessity for absolute secrecy about the C. C. Deck so they and their childish conspirators in crime set out to destroy Maralee's reputation by starting a very jealous and hateful smear campaign against her. These spiteful adversaries did this by telling lies about her and her C. C. Deck which ended up getting Maralee unjustly banished and blackballed from two established but now thought to be very questionable groups. The main lies being told were that the C. C. Deck wasn't real, that it didn't exist, and that Maralee was making it all up. For a deck these vicious villains said didn't exist, the one I'm holding in my hands right now looks and feels very real to me. Oddly enough, not one of the devious foes who managed to succeed in getting Maralee banished from the first group were ever banned when they should have been since they were repeatedly violating the groups rules of conduct by continually badmouthing and lying about another member. I researched the posts. What I found was that Maralee never posted anything inappropriate to anyone yet she was the one who was banned even though the evil ones were basically committing libel by what they were writing about her and their wrists weren't even slapped! That's being more than a little unfair and biased.
You might think the vindictive villains vicious vendetta would've stopped there but no; the cowardly ringleader(s) of the evil plot against our heroine didn't have the guts to confront her directly so they urged their little lemming like lackeys to do it for them. The lemmings already knew Maralee had been banned from the group and couldn't respond but they deliberately posted to her anyway. The lackeys erroneously claimed they were somehow "calling Maralee's bluff" but everything about what they did doesn't qualify as "calling a bluff."  See, in order to be really calling someone's bluff, it has to be done where the intended can actually see it and be able to respond to it, not done in a cowardly, behind the scenes way like what they did. Many of the so-called "bluffs" were made in a private section that Maralee was never even a member of! So of course she wouldn't be able to see it or respond. This is also where they did the majority of their Maralee bashing but I'm sure its all been cleaned up by now.
The plot thickens: some of the toadies even resorted to sending our heroine dubious emails to try to get more information out of her about the deck but Maralee saw right through their transparent as glass scheme and put them in their place promptly. You'd think these evil enemies would develop some common sense and give up their unjustified attack on our brave heroine but that didn't happen.
The plot expands and now turns toward others who sided with our brave heroine. Anyone who tried to post favorably about Maralee's decks in certain groups found their posts were either denied or deleted altogether. The evil plot against our heroine didn't end there, some of the diehards frequented Maralee's websites on a daily basis and followed her around from group to group spying on her just looking for any way to try to get at her or to turn people against her! In other words they were cyberstalking her which is a crime, in case you didn't know. The last group she was blackballed from was taken over by one of the toadies. This one banned Maralee and her husband from the group a few days after commandeering it. Maralee hadn't posted to this group in over a year and all of her posts were positive so there was no just reason for her abrupt removal from this group either. The toadies even kicked out any of Maralee's known supporters in the group too! It seemed these vicious villains would stop at nothing to try to sabotage Maralee using any way they could.
By now, you're probably wondering how a story like this could have a happy ending. Victory is deliciously sweet indeed because all of the evildoers dastardly deeds against our heroine Maralee were completely in vain; a publisher grabbed the C. C. Deck up in a heartbeat just like everyone knew would happen. Now the tables have been turned on the vicious villains; all those who were against Maralee look foolish but they're going to look even worse as soon as the C. C. Deck hits the market. Oh how I love a happy ending!
I've revealed to you the juicy story behind the story of the C. C. Deck so I think it's time to talk about the deck itself. I will reveal to you all the details I can. The deck I have is the main prototype. Maralee mentioned there may be a few more additions to the accompanying booklet but everything else is going to be the same. The elegant box the C. C. Deck comes in is quite unique from any other deck I've seen. It's small enough so it could be taken with you in a backpack, an average size handbag, or a tote, which is always handy. There are less than 20 cards in the deck. They are slightly larger than an average Tarot deck in size but shuffling is not affected since there aren't too many cards to handle. If this were a 78 card deck, then there would probably be a problem shuffling them. The cards are sturdy, glossy, have rounded corners, and they are made to last a long time. There is a very interesting border on the front. I haven't seen one like this put on a deck either. There are several figures depicted on the card faces but it has also been created in such a way I've yet to see before on any other deck. The background used behind the figures is ingenious. Once you see it, you'll immediately understand why this background was chosen. It even manages to tie in perfectly with the unusual border and in a more roundabout way, the reversible back image which consists of fluffy clouds in a starry night sky.
The C. C. Deck is truly inspired and will shatter many preconceptions. I'm not going to say about what though because I don't want to let the cat out of bag. The informative accompanying booklet easily fits into the box and it goes into a lot of detail about how to use the deck, the card meanings, and why this deck can be such a valuable tool to its owner. Maralee's not kidding, the deck is useful in so many ways. It adds a brand new dimension to how I usually....well drat, I can't say that either! What I can say is I love this deck and I haven't been able to put mine down. The C. C. Deck is a real winner and once it's officially published, it won't be long before others realize it too.
